History & Notes: This designer skirt suit belonged to Fern Myers, aunt of the donor, Josie Sandmeyer. Josie donated this ensemble to the Idaho State Historical Society in 1992.
Description: Three piece ensemble comprises navy wool skirt and jacket over a sheer, synthetic button-down blouse. Jacket is lined in red silk and features over sized triangular lapels lined in white silk as well as a detachable caplet, asymmetrically trimmed in white silk piping and lined in red silk, which drapes across shoulders. Long sleeves end in a short split cuff. Jacket flares out over the hips and sports a front closure of four, large self covered buttons. Straight skirt zips at side and is split at back hem in a kick pleat. Short sleeved blouse is of a sheer synthetic material with a straight, double layered collar. Vertical tucks across front panel with emerald cut rhinestone buttons at closure.
