History & Notes: This dress was part of a collection of clothing which belonged to the donor's grandparents and great-grandparents who moved west in the 1800s. They first settled in the Belmond area of Iowa.
Description: Child's cotton print dress in green and tan stripes with speckles, and blue, tan, and white geometrical flowers; hand sewn; draw string at the neck with white string tie in the back. Inside is a 1" by 7 1/4" band attached to side seams to gather it up in front. It also has small ties attached to side seams to tie in the back. The sleeves are long with cuffs. It measures 11" under arms across back and 19" back of neck to bottom of hem.
