History & Notes: Worn by donor's mother Calista (Lissa) Frances Ward (b. 1926, d. 2015) when she married donor's father Charles F. Hummel (b. 1925, d. 2016). The wedding was held at St. John's Cathedral in Boise on June 5, 1951. Hotel Boise was designed by the groom's uncle, Frank K. Hummel.
Description: Wedding dress and matching veil. Satin and Alencon lace with fitted bodice of lace and satin, long sleeves, high neckline with inverted-V at center, and full gathered skirt with full court train. Rouleau button loops with 34 satin-covered buttons at back and 6 satin-covered buttons at right sleeve and 5 at left sleeve (last button missing). Lace has floral design, concentrated near front and bottom of bodice. End of train has loop to allow for the carrying of train; some tulle/lace frames the inside edges of train. Two tier veil in cream tulle with lace trim. Headband covered in wax flowers with rhinestone centers.
