History & Notes: Suit belonged to Dr. Marcus Lindsay, a pastor of the First United Presbyterian Church in Boise. Dr. Lindsay came to the area around the year 1915 from Wichita, Kansas. This suit was used as Dr. Lindsay performed his pastoral duties.
Description: Three piece men's suit comprises jacket, vest, and pants. Swallowtail jacket is of black wool in a herringbone weave with gray thread running throughout fabric. Single button front closure. One breast pocket. Long sleeves terminate in a cuff fastened with two small buttons. Swallow tail has two small pleats with button trim at top. Lining is black silk gabardine except for sleeve lining which is white. Partly hand tailored. Pants are made of a gray and black wool serge material in a pin stripe design. Six buttons with tab at fly waist band has two button closure with four buttons for suspenders. Watch pocket and slash front pocket. Back flap pockets. Pockets and waist band lining are an off white cotton material. Vest is made of black herringbone wool woven with gray threads. Four pockets on vest front with front center button closure. Notched lapels. Back is black silk gabardine. Lined in off white cotton sateen.
