History & Notes: Mary Lesser extensively collected historic clothing from the 19th and 20th centuries. She understood the importance of period fashion to the story of Idaho's history and donated many of her pieces to the Idaho State Historical Society throughout the years. In 2006, her son Rob Lesser donated more of his mother's pieces to the society after her passing.
Description: One piece, black dress with short train. Features black lace raglan sleeves with sequin-striped organza panels that gather into the wide, blue velvet cummerbund. Cummerbund is decorated with silver toned beads sewn on in a branching leaf pattern at the front, back, and bottom margin of the panels at the back. Satin under bodice and skirt with overlay of black striped organza trimmed in lace with sequin accents. Front layered bodice closure.
