History & Notes: Designer Robert Comstock is a native of Idaho. His clothing exemplifies western luxury wear. In 1985, Comstock donated this original ensemble to the Idaho State Historical Society.
Description: Leather and sheepskin ensemble comprising jacket, pants, scarf, mittens, boots, and bag. Jacket has a zip front and shawl collar that snaps closed. Patch pockets D-ring buckles on waist. Sleeves snap off at shoulders so jacket can be worn as a vest. Snaps at sleeve cuffs. Scarf is wool lined sheep suede with a fringe at either end. Pants are sheepskin with wool pockets. Lined in synthetic silken material. Cuffs lace at sides with six eyelets. Boots are knee high with traction soles and leather instep straps as well as leather shin straps. Mittens are elbow length gauntlets laced with thong. Uncut fringe. Bag is a pouch bag laced together with thong. Original designs by Robert Comstock.
