History & Notes: Dr. Carol MacGregor wore this gown to the inaugural ball of President Ronald Reagan in 1984. Carol purchased the fabric and had the gown commissioned based off of a Vogue pattern. In 2009, Carol donated this and several other pieces to the Idaho State Historical Society.
Description: Maroon silk, long sleeved dress with high-low hemline. Fabric features a damask stripe pattern. Deep V-neckline terminates in a knotted element where sections of the skirt appear to loop through one another. Back zip closure and three covered buttons with loop button-holes on each cuff.
