Description: Bar pin in original box. Pin, 2013.15.2/1, is gold with raised flower pattern, 16 balls mounted along edge. Center of pin features an "eye" shape with a mounted piece of round garnet surrounded by 6 pearls. Backside of pin features a mark, " 9.375" and an anchor and an "f". Another stamp in front of "9" extremely difficult to read - looks like "c &". The marks on the back of the pin represent: maker's mark, standard mark (the 9.375) for 9 carat gold, assay office mark and year mark. The anchor is Birmingham and the "f" is 1905. Box, 2013.15.2/2, is brown on outside and lined with blue and ivory fabric. Gold printing states "Watchmaker & Jeweller J. Howard 15% Kirkdale Rd. & 200 Rice Lane Liverpool". The printing on box likely indicates the jewelry store where the pin was sold.
