History & Notes: Purse belonged to donor's great-great grandmother. Donor's grandmother (Mary Olin Highly) gave the purse to donor. Mary moved to Idaho in early 20th century and lived in the second house built on Whitney Bench (Corner NW of Owyhee and Overland)
Description: Intricately beaded hand bag. Some beads are rounded, some are cubic in shape. Lining, fringe on top is black. Handle is beaded as are two tassles at the opening. Handle is a strap approximately one inch in width sewn to fringe on opening edge. Fringe is threaded lace, black and woven, encompassing opening. Beads are of multiple colors--black, orange, brown, pink, purple, blue and green.
