History & Notes: This bonnet was part of a collection of hats owned by Sophie McPhee of Idaho City. The donor purchased the collection from Ms. McPhee and later donated them to the Idaho State Historical Society.
Description: Black felt body; black velvet brim and velvet across the back; top decorated with cluster of lavender and purple yarn flowers with green yarn stones; satin grosgrain ribbon to tie under the chin. Measures 11 1/2 inches around base and 6 1/2 inches high.
