History & Notes: These stocking were found in a trunk of clothing which belonged to Mrs. Lewis F. Cook and her mother, Mrs. Joseph McIntyre, who came to Owyhee County with their husbands in 1869. Mr. and Mrs. Cook took up a homestead four miles north-east of Caldwell where they lived for more than sixty years. The donor, Mrs. L.L. Packer, was the granddaughter of Mrs. Cook.
