History & Notes: This blouse belonged to the donor's mother, Benedicta Archabal of Boise, Idaho. She purchased the blouse shortly before her marriage to John Archabal, known as Idaho's Sheep King. Benedicta and John were part of Idaho's vibrant Basque community.
Description: Red silk bodice trimmed in beige lace; front and back tucks; large full sleeves with long narrow cuffs; lace running down the top of the sleeves and two pieces around cuffs; high lace collar; bodice lined in pink and white cotton; stays on the inside. Red sash to be worn with the bodice; lined in a slightly different shade of red; large gold buckle fastener.
