History & Notes: Mrs. Florence Mitchell donated this dress to the Idaho State Historical Society in 1955.
Description: Two piece brown damask dress. Bodice features a leg of mutton sleeve, stiff stand up band collar, and an asymmetrical front hook and eye closure trimmed in a 1 1/2" ruffle. Very fitted with stays in front and back lining. Lined in tan cotton twill. Seams bound and boning hand stitched in yellow thread. Skirt has 1" waistband and is gored with gathers at center back to create fullness. Fully lined in tan cotton twill with same yellow hand stitching. Hem is trimmed in brown velvet. Damask is a flower and leaf design.
