History & Notes: This dress belonged to Miss Clara McBirney, aunt of Ruth McBirney who donated it to the Idaho State Historical Society in 1966.
Description: Two piece dress with detached black satin collar. Bodice is of blue, white, and taupe cotton print trimmed in black and white lace. Bolero style bodice features two over sized lace trimmed lapels cutting across a lace yoke. Black satin high neck collar is detached from neckline. Sleeves are long with a faux double sleeve. Slightly gathered over sleeve is in same floral print cotton and ends just below the elbow in flared, black lace trimmed cuff. Fitted white lace under sleeve terminates at wrist in slightly flared cuff. Skirt is of same floral print as the bodice and features a gored front with slight gathering at the back closure. Bottom of skirt is finished in two wide gored ruffles, both trimmed in black lace.
