History & Notes: This hat belonged to Katherine Barry Lewis, wife of Horace Caleb Lewis, the son of I.I. Lewis, a founder of Ketchum, Idaho. Born in San Francisco, Katherine spent most of her life in Idaho, first moving to Hailey with her family, then to Ketchum after her marriage to Horace. Katherine was remembered by family and friends as a kind and generous woman and served as the Grand Dame of Ketchum for its first Wagon Days celebration in 1958.
